Our adventure bone is itchin' and scratch it we will.
Our 20 mile family backpacker has begun (or better called.......our 20 mile modern-day handcart journey!!)
Lookout Virgin River Rim Trail. Here we come!
Come Rain!
Come Hail!
Come anything in between!!
Friday night we arrived, hiked in a couple of miles and were fortunate to find the only semi-flat land on the entire trail. So happily pitch our tent we did!
And all that hiking made our tummies hungry. Let's eat!!
So cook our beans we did!
Gotta love that musical/magical fruit!!
A good night's sleep we receive.
And next morning, we awake to a nice swig from the drinking fountain.
Well, 2 out of the 3 of us kiddies do. How dare they leave me out.
And now, all hydrated for some more trekking and twenty questions.
We've lots of hills to climb, rocks to move and heavy loads to lift over fallen trees.
We hike until Yes! Lunchtime!! Eating, but more importantly.......
Horned lizard catching!
Storytime! ("Buck" is our inspiration!)
And some fun "noble duke" time with Daddy!
Onward and upward until......
We reach our destination.
Happily and proudly we rest our feet in the waters of Navajo Lake!!
Our family's goal is half-way accomplished!!
Daddy rewards us with a ride on a motorized fishing boat!
Let the fishing begin!!
Ope! Caught a fish!!
Yahoo!! A rainbow fish, all tuckered out from the big fight.
Ah! Thank goodness Mommy demands 'catch and release'.
Done with the fishing. Let the speed begin.
Wild and crazy speed. Gotta go at least fast enough to drown the engine!!

Breathtaking. Absolutely breathtaking. It's a must to cherish God's creations!!
We get another good night's sleep, in the rain of course. And then wake up Rainday (I mean, Sunday!) morning to some more adventure!!
We are so proud of 5 year old Jaxon for hiking 15 out of the 20 miles.
And 3 year old Ms. Chloe for hiking 10 out of the 20 miles.......all by herself!!
And we can't forget the superb traveling skills of Ms. 1 year old Cal Girl!!
And no better way to end our backpacker than to have an audience of 99.
Guess we got to go on another backpacker to find the one lost sheep:-)
